Elon Musk announced 'New CEO will join Twitter in six weeks'

Twitter's Current CEO Elon Musk announced on Thursday that he has found a new CEO for Twitter. However, he did not reveal the identity of the person but informed that she will be starting in about six weeks. In the tweet, he also cleared that his role will transition to being Twitter's executive chairman and chief technology officer. According to Dylan Byers of Puck News, the new CEO will be NBC Universal advertising executive Linda Yaccarino, citing two unnamed sources.

Musk owned Twitter on October 27, 2022, and soon after took over as CEO, replacing the then-CEO Parag Agrawal. Since taking over the platform, Musk has been active on Twitter using it to communicate his thoughts on a number of topics and promote his many business initiatives. In the past month, Tesla CEO Shared a photoshopped image of his dog, Floki and tweeted“my dog is the CEO of Twitter”. Musk has been making changes to Twitter frequently. He replaced Twitters blue bird icon to a cryptocurrency symbol dog recently. But later on, he changed the log and get back to bird icon.

Recently, On 21 April 2023, Billionaire Elon Musk surprised all users of this microblogging site when he announced that the blue tick would be removed from all accounts and sell the verified blue badge to anyone willing to pay an $8 monthly fee. Though the charges for blue tick is differs by region. The Blue Tick symbol previously used to indicate a verified account but now all the users who will pay the fee can have a blue tick on their accounts. For iOS users in India, the Blue badge costs Rs 900 per month and Rs 9,400 for a full year. The monthly cost for Android users is Rs 900, while the annual cost is Rs 9,400. The cost of a web subscription is Rs. 650 per month and Rs. 6,800 per year.
