Mumbai Couple Behind Rs. 2.09 Cr FX Trading Scam

The complainant filed a complaint at Shivaji Nagar station against a couple, Zakir Naseem Khan and his wife, Ayesha Zakir Khan, for allegedly duping investors of ₹2.09 crore through forex trading.

The complainant said he was introduced to Zakir Khan by one of his friends in October 2023. Zakir claimed to be the owner of a foreign currency trading business in Dubai. The complainant and fraudsters live in the same locality.

The victim informed police, The accused Zakir lured several members of their neighborhood to invest in his company, claiming that all transactions were lawful and profitable. Based on trust, The complainant made a first investment of ₹10 lakh with Zakir and Ayesha.

The couple gave access to a mobile application to the victim, which initially showed significant returns. Everything was going well for a year until in October 2024 he tried to withdraw his funds to meet his demand. But he was unable to withdraw. The Victim told about this issue to the owners of the company, Zakir and Ayesha. They said it was all a technical issue on the backend and would be be resolved soon.

All data from the app had been deleted By November. Zakir initially assured the complainant but eventually stopped responding to calls.

Between October 2023 and November 2024, the complainant invested ₹13.6 lakh in the fraud company. Zakir and Ayesha, the masterminds of the FX trading scandal, duped 33 investors and swindled ₹2.09 crore.

The police investigation is ongoing. Currently, the couple is running away. Police have launched a manhunt to track them.
